A permanent flare

This permanent flare is used to burn the landfill gas from a landfill. A fan sucks the gas from the landfill. This reduces odours, stops the landfill gas pressure building up in the landfill and pushing the gas sideways, and reduces the "global warming" effect otherwise caused from methane entering the atmosphere.
